The ultimate Golden Goose guide + my collection!

Posted in Fashion
on 12/13/2020

GOLDEN GOOSE — something I actually get asked about often – where to buy, sizing info, if they’re actually worth it/comfortable so I figured I’d sit down and pour my little heart into a blog post encompassing all things Golden Goose.

DISCLAIMER: It takes a lot of budgeting to buy a pair, I won’t lie! But I truly find too much happiness in a new pair of shoes. So be broke or have fabulous sneakers? Obvi the later.

MY GOLDEN GOOSE COLLECTION

POLKA DOT MIDS // PINK HI STARS // TAN/PURPLE SEQUIN SLIDES // BLACK GLITTER SUPER STARS // PINK/MAROON SLIDES

SIZING

I am a true 8 and I wear a 38 in all styles. Some Golden Goose wearers like to size down in styles like runners or slides but in my experience I like to take my true size in all styles. I normally wear thin socks with mine or don’t do socks at all!

WHERE TO BUY

I like to look on lots of sites when I’m searching for the perfect pair but the only websites I have actually purchased from thus far have been SSENSE, Italist, Harvey Nichols, and Jomashop. I also love to browse on the Golden Goose Gang Facebook page – it’s great to get insider tips about sizing, pricing, and also buy new and used GG!

PRO TIP: Most sites will change the prices of the shoes every so often, so I always check a few times before buying. I’m comfortable spending max $450. I’ve gotten all 5 of my pairs for that or under so just know IT IS POSSIBLE y’all! You don’t have to pay $600 for a pair of GG you just have to be SMART about it! I will say though all of the sneakers are made in limited quantities so if you love a pair and the price is right, I say go for it because they may not be there for long!

Websites with Golden Goose in the name are most likely fake. If a deal is too good to be true, it probably is!

ssense // farfetch // italist // net-a-porter  // spinnaker boutique // giglio // sohosoho boutique // harvey nichols // jomashop

*** NET A PORTER TIP: CHANGE COUNTRY UP TOP FOR CHEAP OPTIONS WITHOUT DUTIES. US STORE WILL CHARGE DUTIES ON A PAIR SO THAT’S WHY THEY’LL COST MORE!!

ARE GOLDEN GOOSE ACTUALLY WORTH IT?

In my *humble* opinion yes, 100%. If you know me IRL, you can pretty much find me wearing a pair of GG 24/7. They’re my favorite shoes and oh so comfy. I wear them to work where I stand for 8 hours a day and they’re unlike any other shoe. I’m def a sneaker girl so I always find myself reaching for them no matter what! I love how each pair is a little different and they add such a cool pop to any outfit.

The best way to shop online for formal dresses

Posted in Fashion
on 03/14/2019

Hiii friends! I question I get all the time from my friends and insta followers is: where should I go to shop for formal occasions? For us college aged girls, it’s probably formals, semi formals, but this could even work for weddings too (bridal showers, couples showers, wedding events galore!)

THE BEST TIPS + TRICKS FOR ONLINE SHOPPING

My favorite places are the sale racks. I just can’t pass up a good sale. I can’t! I always check places like Saks off Fifth, Neimans Last Call, and Revolve sale! You can find amaaaazzzing dresses for half the price! I love a designer dress, but sometimes the splurge is just too much for my poor lil credit card, so that’s when I hit the sales! It may seem daunting to go through pages and pages of dresses, but think of it as thrift shopping. Sometimes ya just gotta dig!

I’ve also had success on sites like Poshmark. If you can find a trustworthy seller, then you’re good to go! I’ve gotten name brands like Lovers + Friends and For Love + Lemons on major sale. Normally I can even find them with the original tags still attached, which is obviously the best deal of them all.

shoes | run TTS, these are my favorite shoes for dressing up! I wear them to everything and they come in tons of different colors!

Here’s direct links to my favorite places to find dresses for formal occasions:

Have a formal event coming up? Let me help you find a dress! I swear I have over 100 saved in my cart between all the stores I online window shop at lol.

Not your mama’s jeans | My favorite mom jeans under $40

Posted in Fashion
on 03/02/2019

I know what you’re thinking. Ew, no. How am I ever supposed to look cute in mom jeans? I could never pull those off blah blah blah. Well, I’m here to tell you that you can and will be able to pull them off after reading this post. I was one of those skeptics but once I found the right pair and figured out how to style them, things were AMAZING. So amazing in fact, that they are now my most worn pair of jeans in my closet. HUUGE FAN. I’m never turning back!

bodysuit // jeans // boots

The ultimate key to pulling off mom jeans is to balance out the looser fit with something tighter on top. If you arne’t a fan of tighter tops or bodysuits, I say a cropped shirt will do the trick too. Showing off that figure is what makes the jeans work. Frumpy with frumpy is what’s not gonna make them work. So stick to cropped or form-fitting on top. My favorite way to style mom jeans is with a bodysuit. I always find the best ones at Forever 21 or Boohoo, NastyGal, Asos, places like that. I’ll link some of my favorite bodysuits below.

Now onto the good stuff: these jeans. They’re on sale right now (don’t you love that) for under $30 so please snatch up a pair! I actually cut off the hem of mine for a distressed look and I love the way they turned out. Once you break them in, they’re the best. Super comfy and they can be super flattering (if you style them right). Basically what I’m saying is go get you a pair of mom jeans: they really are all the rage right now!

Striped sets + my movie marathon list

Posted in Fashion, Lifestyle
on 02/21/2019

The weather lately has been the biggest drag. It’s been rainy and chilly, which is a combination I’m not a fan of. It makes me wanna curl up with a good movie and never ever leave. Anyone feel me on this? I swear I could do that every day for the rest of my life and not get tired of it! A girls gotta Netflix and binge you know!

sweatshirt // shorts

Speaking of curling up in bed with a good movie, there’s nothing that’s more comfy to do it in than a matching set. If you’ve been following me for a while, I’m sure you know that I am a SUCKER for a matching set. There’s just something so extra about it, but I love it too much. I picked up this set a few weeks ago and it has not left my body for very long. I am looooving the muted stripes and the colors are just so fun and springy! Plus you can definitely wear it out! Grocery shopping? Errands? Coffee? Casual lunch? You need for all of the above. Comfy, cute, and matching – nothin better.

I’ll go ahead and put a few of my other favorite matching sets below for y’all! Hop on the bandwagon with me :-)

If you know me, you know I watch ALOT of TV. Really, I do! I would consider myself a connoisseur of romantic comedies. I’ve pretty much seen almost of all them on Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon… is that something to celebrate? Idk honestly but I’ll take it! I guess it comes in handy sometimes… and now is one of those cases. I put together a huuuuge list of all my favorite rom-coms from the 80s to now. If you ever need a movie, or 11, to watch- just come here. Screenshot this list and check em all off! You’ll be much more prone to think your life is a movie (I know I do- it’s a character flaw).

THE BEST ROM-COMS EVER

A Cinderella Story // He’s Just Not That Into You // 10 Things I Hate About You // She’s All That // Drive Me Crazy

Basics worth investing in

Posted in Fashion
on 09/28/2018

Basics are good for the soul. Don’t get me wrong, I am all about trendy clothes but my basics are my tried and true and I’ll never go a day without em. They’re where I’ll splurge since I know I will get lots of wear. For today’s post, I thought I would break down some of my gotta have basic pieces and why I splurge on them.

A GOOD BELT

Belts have been my jam as of late. There’s just something about adding a belt to an outfit that amplifies the look? Idk, just me? It can be smart to invest in a nice neutral belt that you can keep as a staple piece in your closet. Now I am all for the western vibe, the skinny belt, or a double buckle belt but I don’t think it something to break the bank on. A neutral belt that I can wear with anything? Check yes! I’ll spend some bank on that.

DON’T: DROP ALL YOUR CASH ON A BELT THAT YOU CAN’T MIX AND MATCH WITH ANY OUTFIT.

A NICE PAIR OF JEANS

I was never a firm believer in spending money on jeans until a year or two ago. Why? I guess I just never tried on any finely made jeans to know the difference. But believe me, there is a difference. If you’re anything like me then investing in a nice pair of jeans will be one of the BEST things you can do for yourself. Some of my favorite denim brands are Hudson and Joes. They will run you about $200ish a pair, but it’s worth every penny. They are much more comfortable than a low-end denim and they will last you for many years to come. For me, my must-have pair is a high-rise medium wash with some distressing (and they’re on sale now too).

DON’T: SPLURGE ON BRIGHTLY COLORED OR JEANS THAT ARE TOO EMBELLISHED.

A NICE BAG

I never leave the house with out my purse. Never. I swear it feels like a safety blanket? Lol. Recently, I’ve been leaning towards my black crossbody but for years and years I only used a cognac color. I feel like a crossbody is always a safe bet when you’re wanting to invest. They’re great bags to go from day to night in whereas a tote is not as versatile. I’ll link my favorite leather crossbody here and my suede crossbody (in the picture above) here. I’ve used Ebay in the past to find some great real designer bags so if that’s the route you want to do I would def recommend doing lots of research before buying off Ebay!

DON’T: SPEND BUKU BUCKS ON A SUPER TRENDY BAG YOU WON’T GET LOT’S OF WEAR OUT OF.

A DENIM JACKET

There will never come a day when a classic denim jacket won’t be in style. They’re perfect to add some edge to any outfit, depending on the look of the jacket. When it comes to investing, I always head straight to Free People. They really do have the best denim jackets for every personality. I just splurged on this one! It’s a fantastic medium/light wash with simple studs (I like things jazzy ok). The oversized trucker fit is perfect because it doesn’t limit what I can wear with it like a cropped jacket would.

DON’T: WATSE YOUR MONEY ON A DENIM JACKET WITH LOTS OF FRILLS OR DISTRESSING. GET SOMETHING CLASSIC.

Have the best weekend! Maybe do a little shopping…?

Styling fuzzy slides into fall

HELLLER MY GALS!

Happy September 13. Hope all of y’all are having a great week/month/year so far. It’s that weird time of year, especially down here in South Louisiana where it’s still 90 degrees outside and raining everyday? Yeah, our weather is extremely bi-polar which does not lend itself easily to dressing for “fall.” My favorite way to get into the fall spirit is to incorporate transition pieces into my summer basics for a fall vibe.

FUZZY SLIDES. NEED I SAY MORE?

What I used to honestly DESPISE as a trend has finally won me over in the form of this embellished slide from Target. Yes y’all, you heard me right. Target with alll the deals (y’all know I am a HUGE fan). But back to the slides. I’ve been living in them the past week. Dresses, jeans, skirts – you name it and it’ll probably look amaze with these! This is the only way for this southern Louisiana girl to get her fur fix while it’s still so warm out. Here’s all my favorite fuzzy slides for the fall linked for y’all below!

hat (sold out) // bracelets // dress // fuzzy slides // purse (sold out)

We have to chat about this dress. It’s from one of my all-time fave brands and it’s under $55! Lately I’ve been all about the faux-leopard print and I love how it’s incorporated into the flowers on this shift. Orange, green, black and cream are such great colors to take into fall with you. I would so rock this dress in the summer with more white-toned accessories to lighten it up. Since I was going for a darker vibe, I opted for black to make everything pop.
