This week’s mani monday is dedicated to this gorgeous taupe color from OPI dubbed Berlin There Done That. It’s such a gorgeous neutral that goes with anything. I think there is some sort of a stigma to colors like these, but I say go for it! Application was easy and the formulation was perfect (no different from any other OPI polish). This would be so perfect in the fall or winter even with a chunky sweater and some arm candy. It is now one of my go-to neutal shades. Thanks OPI!

Red Dress {last season TJ Maxx} // Mini MAC // Blue glitter Jacks // Multi-stranded Pearl Necklace // Ray Ban aviators // MK Tortoise Sport watch // Alex and Ani Bangle

Zach and I went to hang out today in downtown Cov (one of our fave places to take pictures) and the heat was sweltering. Like by the time we were done taking pictures, we were DEAD. Today’s outfit is another USA themed look (what is this.. my third of the month?! See the other two here.) I found this adorable shift dress at TJ Maxx (I couldn’t find anything like it online, so sorry y’all) and I paired it with the chunky multi-stranded pearl necklace. My blue glitter Jacks and my Mini MAC completed the look. Ugh, I felt so classy in it! The dress is the perfect length and I loved the pop of pearls.

On another note, did y’all notice my chop? I got about three inches cut off last week. I haven’t been able to play with it too much yet, so I’ve been rocking the straight look. Any cute shorter hairstyles y’all know of of? Let me know!

July Instagram Roundup

Posted in Lifestyle
on 07/30/2015

I would have to consider myself a typical southern girl. In addition to drinking copious amounts of sweet tea and saying “y’all” every other word, I also love monograms. What a shocker?! I currently own my own Etsy store, Sweet Tea Southern Bee.  We specialize in custom embroidery and vinyl monogramming. I’ve been working super hard getting out orders all month! Although it may be tiring, it’s what I love to do. This is the cutest little set of pillowcases, and look at how I packaged it- so adorable! I’m actually working on a little revamp of my Esty shop, so stay tuned y’all!

In the beginning of July, my family and I took a trip to Maine. It was so beautiful. I was mostly just excited to get away from the cray cray LA weather. My beautiful mama and I took this picture on Peak’s Island. Peak’s Island is literally the Seaside of Maine. I felt like I was in a movie where kids have adventures in their small quaint town during the summer.. lol.

If you go to Maine, you MUST get an Italian. My fave are from Sam’s!

We traveled to Bah-ston next. Man, do I love the city! The fam and I went to see a Boston Red Sox vs Yankees game. We were in standing room only so I was getting pretty tired by the end. The Sox ended up losing, but the game was such a fun time!

For some reason, I often unintentionally pair red, white, and blue toegether. These shorts are my FAVORITE things ever. And you can’t forget my red and gold jacks, monogrammed necklace, and Mini MAC. Perf shopping day outfit! Not too much to take off and put back on repeatedly.

Palmin’ around! See my post here. Ugh I am in love with  my new Ray Ban mirrored aviators– so chic.

Me and my bestie! We like to get together and take pictures (of course) as well as eat ALOT of food and gossip about various celebrities daily lives. Fun fact: we’ve played twins in a show before so I thought it was only fitting for us to post a twin Ray Ban pic.

Y’all have seen this one before.. Mani Monday with Essie Bikini so Teeny– my favorite creamy summer blue! And of a pineapple makes everything a little cuter.

Look how adorable my notebook is? I just added it onto my shop, so check it out! This week I was super busy with blogging, planning to blog, and keeping up with my shop!

True Life: It took me twenty minutes to take this picture… No shame, no shame. Again with the USA themed outfit. I entitle this one: gingham glam. My gingham shirt is from Gap (I linked similar), my adorable blue skirt is from JCrew Factory, as well as my pearls.

When you give yourself a pedicure and it looks so good you just have to show it off…

I am a constant to-do list writer.. it may or may not be a problem. Who doesn’t like checking things off?!

Two inch decals are up in my shop now! I loove to fill up my camelback and take it with me on the go when I’m running errands.

July Beauty Haul + First Impressions

Posted in Beauty

beauty-haul-first-imp-2-lgip

beauty-haul-first-imp-1-lgip

I’m a shopahaulic. There, I said it. Now that y’all know, expect to see hauls frequently on the blog. These past two weeks, I’ve been on a beauty/skincare kick. I’m so one of those people that get bored easily, but in the end I always end up finishing the product I’m tired of. I picked up a few products- some from TJ Maxx, Bare Minerals, Ulta, and Sephora.

// Skincare //

Clean & Clear Acne Advantage Daily Soothing Face Wash // My skin has recently decided it would like to break out and BAD. Thanks skin! Anyhow, I’m currently using Philosophy Purity Made Simple Face Wash (which I love) but I really needed something with some salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide in it for my breakouts. I saw this one at TJ Maxx and picked it up because it’s got 2% salicylic acid in it and I’m hoping that it’ll help calm my skin!

First Impressions // Dang, this smells good. It’s pretty gentle too and I’m liking using it with my Clarisonic for my face and back. After two days, my skin is already looking better.

Ole Henriksen Sugar Glow Face Scrub // I love a good scrub. Sometimes my skin, just needs an extra something in addition to cleansing with my Clarisonic twice daily. This was only $9.99 and it smelled good so I figured I’d give it a go.

First Impressions // Smells great (wow, clearly I’m drawn to product by the smell) and I liked the consistency of it. It had some thicker chunks in it and the base was the perfect amount of grain. Felt super good on my skin.

Bliss Peeling Groovy Facial Serum // My skin was doing a lot better when I was doing the whole shebang (cleanse, tone, serum, moisturize, acne spot treatment) and I ran out of my other serum so I wanted to pick up another one. At only $12, this was bargain. Bliss products always smell super good and I read a few positive reviews on this so we’ll see!

First Impressions // Serum isn’t too oily/greasy- which I like. Went on well and soaked into my skin pretty quickly.

Fresh Citrus Refreshing Facial Wipes // When ya run out of makeup wipes, the world stops for a second. My all time favorite ones are Neutrogena, but they can get so expensive. I’ve started getting my makeup wipes from TJ Maxx because I can snag a pack of 30 for like $3! It can’t get any better. The citrus scent pulled me in!

First Impressions // Love the smell and these are great for removing face makeup, but after a few days, my eye area is burning and stinging. I’m now just using these for face makeup removal and doing something different for my eye makeup.

// Makeup //

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer // I used to use this like three years ago and I loved it! I never did get back to purchasing a full size, so in hopes my skin will clear up and I won’t need to wear foundation all the time, I picked this up from Sephora. The lady at Sephora helped me match my skin and the color is perfect on me!

First Impressions // The formulation of this is the best! It feel like I have no makeup on. It blends so well when I use my fingers and the coverage is pretty light (but hey-it is a tinted moisturizer)!

Real Techniques Retractable Kabuki Brush // Thought this one would be good for my foundation because I’m getting really tired of my other brushes. I own a few Real Techniques brushes and I really love them.

First Impressions // Nice for applying my foundation. Worked great to buff it in. Would reccomend!

NAKED Skin Liquid Makeup // Long story short, I ran out of my Benefit Hello Flawless! Oxygen Wow Foundation and needed another. I heard great things about this one. At first I got the wrong color, so about three weeks later, I went back and purchased the right shade (shade 4.0, instead of 3.0).

First Impressions // I like how smooth this goes on. It feels great on my skin. The coverage is medium-ish and there’s a little glow that I get when I use this product. I like it so far! But it does not smell very good (boo!).

Bare Minerals Warmth // My Tarte Amazonian Clay bronzer shattered to pieces while I was traveling and I was kind of over it anyways so I figured I’d just get a new bronzer. At points in my life, I have stayed awake late into the night and watched infomercials. Bare Minerals was one of them. I’m really not a fan of powder foundation, but I was drawn to this product. I had never used a loose bronzer before.

First Impressions // I like the concept of a loose bronzer. The color is perfect but I can’t seem to find the right brush to use it with. I think my brushes are too soft and are picking up too much product, but not distributing enough. Any suggestions on a brush?

That wraps up my very long beauty haul for July + first impressions! Do y’all like these types of posts? Let me know in the comments what you like for beauty products for the month of July. Like me on Facebook, and follow all my social media for updates!

Yep. I can die happy now, having found the most perfect and creamy baby blue hue. Essie’s Bikini So Teeny from their 2014 summer collection has me hooked. It’s so eye-catching and adds such an adorable pop to any outfit! With only two coats, I was good to go! I’ve always loved the formulation of essie polishes (I have over 50… oops) and this one is no different. Do yourself a favor and check out this polish, I’m sure you’ll fall in love with it like I did!

What color is on your nails? Tell me in the comments below- I loove nail polish sugguestions!

On my radar

Posted in Lifestyle
on 07/26/2015

This week has been a constant blur of work, blogging, and eating (I mean can it get any better?!). I’ve been keeping myself pretty busy by researching blog ideas- I’ve found one I think is so interesting- a weekly sort of round-up, if will. I’ll share links, movies, photos, books- pretty much anything I’m currently finding intriguing/interesting this week!

One // Eye-Catching Shoes That Made the Outfit

Abigail Spencer is totally rocking this vintage 1960’s vibe. Her graphic shift dress with exposed zippers paired with her emerald green and white Malone Souliers is making me swoon. I’m definitely taking some outfit insp from this one!

Two // 3D Printing Clothes

Y’all I think is just about the coolest thing I’ve seen. A fashion student printed a ready to wear collection entirely using a 3D printer. Her designs are so simplistic but so chic. And, the movement of the clothes- wow.

Three // Stitches by Shawn Mendes

It’s official, I’m obsessed. I’ve always loved Shawn Mendes and after seeing him on Taylor’s 1989 tour- I fell more in love. He is so humble, and did I mention he is adorable? This song has been stuck in my head all week, it’s so dang catchy!

Four // Gigi New York Desert Rose Zip Pouch

I’m in need of a new wallet, and I was browsing on Gigi NY’s site, when I stumbled upon this bad boy! It’s so adorable and it’s ON SALE (possibly some of my favorite words)! This color is perfect because it’s a neutral and will match with any purse I’m currently using! I think I may have to splurge and purchase this!

Five // Lemon Water

Yes I know this is random, but hey, it’s a favorite! I’ve been drinking lemon water by the gallon lately (I’m not even kidding). It’s super good for you! Lemon water acts a natural detox, as well as helping with blemishes, freshening breath, and it’s helping me cut coke out of my diet too (acts as caffeine)

What’s on your radar? Tell me below in the comments?

Chambray popover {similar} // Textured white shorts {similar} // Jack Rogers // Black faux leather tote {similar} // MK sport tortise watch // stella&dot gold chain-link bracelet // Ray Ban Clubmasters // Monogram necklace

How adorable is this combo?! I’m so obessed with easy outfits for the summer. Just throw on some chinos and a shirt, and I’m good to go. Today I styled my Bananna Republic textured chinos with a chambray popover from Old Navy. Unfortunately both of these items are out of season so I linked something similiar for both! I’m really digging the simplicty of this outfit.

As for accessories, I’m sporting my MK sport watch in tortise (Are y’all seeing a trend here? This is my fave everyday watch! Expect to see it again!), and this gorgeous gold chain bracelet from stella&dot. The piece is so great to stack with a watch and some bangles. It’s so eye catching and I love how simple it is! My 3 inch monogram necklace makes its return as well (another everyday staple of mine! I may have to get a new one soon, considering I’ve worn this baby down!). I’m still carrying my Forver 21 black faux-leather tote because I can fit soo much stuff in it! Today I managed to fit my computer, camera, a book, my agenda and a notebook in this bad boy! Not too shabby for a bargain bag! I’m also wearing my Ray Ban Clubmasters (remember how I told y’all I was a sunglass hoarder. Well here’s exhibit A.), which are the cutest! I can’t get over the vintage vibe they add to the look.

I’m wearing my Jacks as well, no surprise. These are the Hamptons sandals in bone with white whipstitching.

Is there any thing y’all want to see on the blog? Give me your suggestions below in the comments!

Palmin’ Around

Piko // Palm print shorts // Black faux-leather tote {similar} // Floppy hat // Jack Rogers // Monogram necklace // MK Tortise shell watch // Green bangle {similar} // Alex + Ani bangle

Dang y’all, I have seen this palm print everywhere these days. Seriously everywhere. On rompers, dresses, skirts, shirts– you name it, it’ll most likely come in a palm print.

My outfit for today was centered around my Old Navy flat front palm print shorts. I’m loving these right now! They go so great with white, but you could definitely get away with a black top too. I paired them with a white 3/4 length sleeve Piko. Words cannot describe my obsession with Piko tops. I swear I have almost 10! They are so easy! In the winter, you can add a vest and a scarf and you’re good to go. For summer, I like styling them with a pair of shorts or even jeans and my Jacks. They’re made out of 90% bamboo, so they won’t shrink or lose their shape (which is awesome if you just throw everything in the wash together, like me!) and they are the softest. They come in a variety of sleeve lengths, so you can find one for every season. The long sleeve and short sleeve are my fave.

For accessories, I added my floppy hat and my new mirrored Ray Ban aviators (check out my post on them here!) along with a black faux leather tote. Ugh, I’m such a fan of totes because I carry around my whole life with me. Literally. The tote is super roomy and has a few little pockets on the side along with zippers on the sides that expand the tote for more stuff! Plus, I got a great deal on it so that’s always nice too!

My stack today consisted of my everyday watch– the Michael Kors tortoise shell sport watch, a stella&dot green bangle, and my Alex and Ani charm bracelet (Note to self: I need more of these!). It was pretty simple today.

My gold Jacks topped off the whole look. Do yourself a favor and buy a pair of Jacks. These are my favorite summer shoes. I own six pairs and I continue to buy more! They are such a good-looking shoe, you honestly can’t go wrong with them.

Do y’all own any palm print items? How do you style them?
