Hey whats up hello peeps! A very happy Wednesday to y’all! I’m currently typing this post at the beach (aka my favorite place EVS) jamming to Whitney Houston — it can’t get much better than this. Funny story about this OOTD actually if y’all want it… long story short I tried to take some outfit pics yesterday night after dinner but the lighting was ATROCIOUS. So I ended up running inside after we left the beach to quickly shower + get ready to retake pics tonight. Special thanks to my family for putting up with my craziness!

First of all, let’s talk about my obsession with this off the shoulder Piko top. It literally matches with everything + I’ve been wearing it nonstop since I got it. Tonight I paired it with some white linen shorts and a simple statement necklace from stella & dot. My kicks tonight are my gold Jacks. While on vacation I tend to just pack a pair of Jacks because they are so versatile and can serve as my flip-flops but can dress an outfit up too!

Hope y’all enjoyed this OOTD, I’ll talk to y’all on Sunday :-)

4 planners to help curb your disorganization

plan it out!

ban.do // erin condren // whitney english // may designs

Well, I was expecting to post on Wednesday as I normally do but I ended up falling asleep at 6pm and sleeping through the night (whoops). My sleep schedule is extremely chaotic at the moment, y’all. In a fit of  trying to mentally prepare myself for the upcoming school year, I have been reading up on planners of every type. For the past four years, I have used the Lilly Pulitzer Planner and I have really loved it but I’m looking for something different this school year (maybe I’m getting more sophisticated or something…? Lol).

I’ve narrowed down my choices to these four and I have to say I am having a super hard time deciding. The May Designs Agenda is bound, which I love the idea of because my spirals always seem to fall apart mid year. It is a smaller size than the rest though, and I am worried I won’t able to fit it all, but it would be great to throw in my bag and take on the go. The ban.do agenda is the front runner in my mind right now. It is business on the front and a real party on the inside. One of my fave features of this agenda is that it does not have lines under each day in the week view. I’m sure y’all have heard of the Erin Condren Life Planner™ at some point or another. It’s a customizable planner with the option of vertical or horizontal week layout (which I love) as well as the option to design your own cover that can be interchangeable. It is the most expensive out of the bunch, but it sure does a lot! Lastly, the Whitney English Day Designer™ is standing out for me because it’s set up on the week view by time. Being a full-time college student, treasurer of my sorority, working a part-time job and blogging — I’m thinking a timed schedule might just be what I need!

Have y’all been able to decide on one planner out of the millions for this school year? Pretty please leave me a comment helping me to decide which I should get for this year!

orange romper // strapless romper

(which is currently sold out, so here’s a similar one here and here)

Happy Happy Sunday y’all! Tonight’s post is one I am overjoyed to share. I recently received these two rompers along with this dress (which I wrote a post on already, and you can read that here) in the mail from Tobi. Head on over to Tobi because they always have 50% off for new customers as well as free shipping! Go to Tobi to see some more of their product: sunglasses, triangle bikinis, formal dresses.

Rompers are my go-to during anytime of year simply because of the ease of them. Every romper is created differently, and the two I picked could be dressed up or dressed down.

I chose to style the orange romper very simplistically. Since the neck is a bit plunging on the front and sides, I paired it with a cream bralette for coverage. I have been on a DIY kick lately which led me to create this suede + pearl double wrap necklace. I’m wearing my gold Jacks — which are a summer staple in book, and carrying this black tote. I threw on my Ray Ban aviators and was good to go!

With the strapless romper, I wanted to showcase the neckline so I went with a black velvet choker for accessories. Per usual, I am carrying my Mini MAC and wearing my Ray Ban club masters for a vintage vibe. Metallic sandals completed this look. For a pop of color on the lips, I’m wearing the NYX soft matte lip cream in Antwerp.

Do y’all reach for rompers as often as I do in the summer?

I’m all about dat glowy summer face this summer. With extremely oily skin (I’m talking the use two full oil wipes), I have to be careful not to go overboard with the luminescence because no one wants to look like a light bulb. This is my go to face for the summer, so I thought I would share and see what y’all think.

Breakin’ it down

I always prime my skin before foundation/tinted moisturizer to be sure it’ll last all day. Neutrogena Shine control is a rice-based primer that helps mattify my skin. Laura Mercer Tinted Moisturizer is probably one of my all time favorite products ever. I love the coverage that it gives and the oil free version is a godsend. Due to my super oily skin, setting powder is a must. For years I’ve been using the Makeup Forever HD Powder and I am a huge fan. It makes my skin look airbrushed! For a glowy highlight/blush, MAC’s Mineralized Skin Finish does the trick. The one I have is super duper old and I’m pretty sure it’s been discontinued but MAC has lots of other color options in stock. I love their MSF’s because they aren’t chalked full of chunky glitter. When you swirl this one together, you get a beautiful desert rose color (I swatched it in the third to last picture). To set my face, I like a matte setting spray like NYX’s Matte Setting Spray

As far as eyes go, I love eyeliner but I have been *trying* to steer away from it during the summer for a fresher look (keyword: trying. No really y’all I am an eyeliner addict). I always do a shimmery lid for summer, and MAC makes amazing cream shadows that last ALL DAY (not even exaggerating). MAC Bare Study Paint Pot is the perfect champagne color. I swatched it in the last picture. Mascara wise (I am constantly changing my mascara up) lately I have been using Maybelline the Falsies and I really like it.

As y’all are well aware and have seen in previous posts (aka this one and this one) I am obsessed with Revlon lip products. The Just Bitten Balm + Stain in particular is an all time fave. This light pink color looks good with any outfit and polishes off my makeup look.

Do y’all have any must have products for summer I should know about?

lace up dress // shoes // mini mac // necklace

Happy Wednesday my loves!

I am almost never seen in dresses or rompers but to be honest they are some of my favorite pieces because they are so easy. Lace up everything is all the rage right now, and I am really into the trend. I’ve been seeing lace up pop up in sandals, dresses, rompers, and even side lace up shorts and skirts. My lace up dress is from Tobi and it is the perfect dress to throw on for a dinner date! To keep things simplistic and showcase the statement, I added some chunky heels, my Mini MAC, and some pearl earrings. Underneath, I opted for a cream bralette but if you’re daring (and I applaud you for that) you could go braless!

Y’all need to check out Tobi because they always have 50% off for new customers as well as free shipping! Head to Tobi to see some more of their product: shoes, lingerie, tops.

Are y’all into the lace up trend? I’m curious to hear your opinions. Leave me a comment below!

Hey hey friends! Dressing up while at the beach is one of my favorite things to do (not sure what it is.. but taking a nice shower and putting on a beach outfit to go with my new tan makes me happy happy). Last week I was in Orange Beach, AL on a  little girls trip so we ended up going to dinner a few times during the course of the week.

Palazzo pants are a summer staple in my closet, and I think they are so easy to dress up or dress down. Since we were headed to a nicer restaurant, I paired these printed palazzos with a plain tank (tied up — aka one of my fave ways to style this Old Navy tank), a long pearl necklace (double wrapped as usual), and my latest obsession — OTBT Bushnell wedges.

What do y’all wear when you go to dinner at the beach? Give me some ideas for my next beach trip in the comments below!

My top 10 beach essentials | LGIP picks

Posted in Beauty, Fashion
on 06/15/2016

Give me a few days at the beach and I’ll be in absolute heaven. Of course there is the part of packing up all of my stuff to go there, unpacking, and then packing it all up again that does stress me out… After quite a few beach trips, I’ve got my packing list down pat! I thought I would share this with y’all tonight and hopefully it’ll be helpful!

beach-packing-essentials-1-lgip

covergirl mascara // laura mercier tinted moisturizer // s’well bottle // ray ban aviators // earbuds // ban.do portable charger // h&m scallop bottom // h&m mesh top // towel // banana boat dry oil // neutrogena dry-touch

I always make sure to pack tons of tanning oil and sunscreen for my face (don’t want those premature wrinkles) in addition to a bunch of fab suits and some shades (Ray Bans of course!!). If you plan to jam to some music while out on the beach, pack a portable charger too so you can power up!! If my skin is breaking out, I’ll throw on some Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer and some waterproof mascara (I’ve always loved CG lash blast).

If ya wanna listen to some of my favorite summer tunes, head to my playlist here.

Here’s a few pictures from my trip… and a sneak peek of an upcoming OOTD :-)

On the real y’all, I am so IN LOVE with this denim skirt trend that is coming back into style. There are so so many high waisted denim skirts on the market right now, I am so sure there is one to fit anyone’s style!! I styled my button front denim skirt (shoutout to my sis for letting me steal this bad boy) with a loose white tank and some simple jewelry. Lately, I can’t get enough of layering lots of necklaces to create some drama up top. My favorite combo is this velvet choker, Kendra necklace, and bar necklace. I’m still super into bralettes with any and every shirt I can get away with, so I threw one of those on today as well. My OTBT Bushnell’s have done it again, managing to be the perfect shoe for a day of exploring while still giving me some height and some polish. The 70’s vibe I’m getting from this look is everything!!

Here are some of my favorite denim skirts on the market right now… Most of them are under $80, with the exception of just one!
