Hey whats up hello peeps! A very happy Wednesday to y’all! I’m currently typing this post at the beach (aka my favorite place EVS) jamming to Whitney Houston — it can’t get much better than this. Funny story about this OOTD actually if y’all want it… long story short I tried to take some outfit pics yesterday night after dinner but the lighting was ATROCIOUS. So I ended up running inside after we left the beach to quickly shower + get ready to retake pics tonight. Special thanks to my family for putting up with my craziness!

First of all, let’s talk about my obsession with this off the shoulder Piko top. It literally matches with everything + I’ve been wearing it nonstop since I got it. Tonight I paired it with some white linen shorts and a simple statement necklace from stella & dot. My kicks tonight are my gold Jacks. While on vacation I tend to just pack a pair of Jacks because they are so versatile and can serve as my flip-flops but can dress an outfit up too!

Hope y’all enjoyed this OOTD, I’ll talk to y’all on Sunday :-)

orange romper // strapless romper

(which is currently sold out, so here’s a similar one here and here)

Happy Happy Sunday y’all! Tonight’s post is one I am overjoyed to share. I recently received these two rompers along with this dress (which I wrote a post on already, and you can read that here) in the mail from Tobi. Head on over to Tobi because they always have 50% off for new customers as well as free shipping! Go to Tobi to see some more of their product: sunglasses, triangle bikinis, formal dresses.

Rompers are my go-to during anytime of year simply because of the ease of them. Every romper is created differently, and the two I picked could be dressed up or dressed down.

I chose to style the orange romper very simplistically. Since the neck is a bit plunging on the front and sides, I paired it with a cream bralette for coverage. I have been on a DIY kick lately which led me to create this suede + pearl double wrap necklace. I’m wearing my gold Jacks — which are a summer staple in book, and carrying this black tote. I threw on my Ray Ban aviators and was good to go!

With the strapless romper, I wanted to showcase the neckline so I went with a black velvet choker for accessories. Per usual, I am carrying my Mini MAC and wearing my Ray Ban club masters for a vintage vibe. Metallic sandals completed this look. For a pop of color on the lips, I’m wearing the NYX soft matte lip cream in Antwerp.

Do y’all reach for rompers as often as I do in the summer?

lace up dress // shoes // mini mac // necklace

Happy Wednesday my loves!

I am almost never seen in dresses or rompers but to be honest they are some of my favorite pieces because they are so easy. Lace up everything is all the rage right now, and I am really into the trend. I’ve been seeing lace up pop up in sandals, dresses, rompers, and even side lace up shorts and skirts. My lace up dress is from Tobi and it is the perfect dress to throw on for a dinner date! To keep things simplistic and showcase the statement, I added some chunky heels, my Mini MAC, and some pearl earrings. Underneath, I opted for a cream bralette but if you’re daring (and I applaud you for that) you could go braless!

Y’all need to check out Tobi because they always have 50% off for new customers as well as free shipping! Head to Tobi to see some more of their product: shoes, lingerie, tops.

Are y’all into the lace up trend? I’m curious to hear your opinions. Leave me a comment below!

Hey hey friends! Dressing up while at the beach is one of my favorite things to do (not sure what it is.. but taking a nice shower and putting on a beach outfit to go with my new tan makes me happy happy). Last week I was in Orange Beach, AL on a  little girls trip so we ended up going to dinner a few times during the course of the week.

Palazzo pants are a summer staple in my closet, and I think they are so easy to dress up or dress down. Since we were headed to a nicer restaurant, I paired these printed palazzos with a plain tank (tied up — aka one of my fave ways to style this Old Navy tank), a long pearl necklace (double wrapped as usual), and my latest obsession — OTBT Bushnell wedges.

My top 10 beach essentials | LGIP picks

Posted in Beauty, Fashion
on 06/15/2016

Give me a few days at the beach and I’ll be in absolute heaven. Of course there is the part of packing up all of my stuff to go there, unpacking, and then packing it all up again that does stress me out… After quite a few beach trips, I’ve got my packing list down pat! I thought I would share this with y’all tonight and hopefully it’ll be helpful!

beach-packing-essentials-1-lgip

covergirl mascara // laura mercier tinted moisturizer // s’well bottle // ray ban aviators // earbuds // ban.do portable charger // h&m scallop bottom // h&m mesh top // towel // banana boat dry oil // neutrogena dry-touch

I always make sure to pack tons of tanning oil and sunscreen for my face (don’t want those premature wrinkles) in addition to a bunch of fab suits and some shades (Ray Bans of course!!). If you plan to jam to some music while out on the beach, pack a portable charger too so you can power up!! If my skin is breaking out, I’ll throw on some Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer and some waterproof mascara (I’ve always loved CG lash blast).

If ya wanna listen to some of my favorite summer tunes, head to my playlist here.

Here’s a few pictures from my trip… and a sneak peek of an upcoming OOTD :-)

Y’all today’s post is one I’m so excited about! I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a while, and I finally got the chance. These Steve Madden sneakers are my go-to shoe this summer. There’s so many different ways you can style them — and did I mention they are super comfy? It’s pretty much a win-win. Keep reading to see two ways I style these sneakers!

// jeans, t-shirt, + sneakers //

A plain t-shirt, distressed jeans + sneaks is the perfect combo for a lazy day of running errands. Y’all know I’m obsessed with these distressed jeans from Old Navy (I only wear them in literally every other post lol). I paired them with this plain t-shirt from American Eagle that I got on sale for $8 (talk about a bargain.. I also picked up one in white too! You can never have too many plain t-shirts). As of late, I’ve been living in this navy blue bralette from Express. It’s a halter and it’s adjustable in the back — so it’s super comfy. For jewelry I added this suede and pearl necklace and I tied it to be a choker and then let it hang to show off the pearls. Ray Bans and my Longchamp bag rounded out the accessories and of course I added my Steve Madden sneakers to top it off!

// dress, tied shirt + sneakers //

My style has really evolved in the past year. This outfit would be something that I would have never worn last year, but I really loved how it turned out! I paired this striped dress with a plaid shirt tied around my waist. I’m wearing the same bandeau from Express for this outfit as well. For accessories, I layered my Kendra Scott Elsa necklace and my Alpha Phi bar necklace. My Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC went perfect with this look too! My Steve Madden sneakers perfectly added the casual cool vibe to this look.

Congrats Grad! | 10 grad gifts under $40

Posted in Beauty, Fashion, Lifestyle
on 05/18/2016

Graduation season is among us! I literally remember graduating from high school like it was yesterday! It’s crazy how time flies! Graduation season brings a lot of crawfish boils (if you live in LA like me), and lots of gift giving. While money is always appreciated, sometimes it’s nice to give a physical item to show how much you care. So I’ve scoured the internet to bring to you 10 grad gifts under $40!

// ban.do portable charger //

My portable charger saved my life this year. Seriously. I took it with me for long game days, nights out, or as a “just in case.” I loved the charger that plugged straight into my phone so I didn’t have to carry around cords! This one from ban.do is adorable, yet so functional!

// coco and the little black dress //

Forever wishing I had a coloring book freshman year to relieve stress. Coco Chanel + coloring — it can’t get any better than that. Take this bad boy to the library for a study break, or just keep in your room to unwind at night.

// ban.do passport cover + luggage tag //

This little duo is perfect for a traveler! You’ll never misplace your luggage with this luggage tag, and this passport cover is just the cutest.

// voluspa candle //

Voluspa has THE BEST candles hands down. The packaging is so aesthetically pleasing and there’s such a wide variety of scents offered. Burning a candle in my room is one of my favorite things to do at night before bed — aka making this the perfect gift for a grad!

// bauble bar coordinates necklace //

This year I purchased a bar necklace and it’s become one of my favorite accessories. This bar necklace is customizable with coordinates! I’m thinking coordinates of home or maybe school would make it really special.

// alex + ani bangle //

Another one of my basic pieces that I can pair with anything and everything! Alex + Ani bangles are a sweet, yet simple gift that will be put to good use in any girl’s stack.

// s’well bottle //

Y’all know my thoughts on S’well bottles — love, love, love! I toted mine around all of second semester and I loved how stylish it was, while keeping my water cold. This is a great gift for an entering college student to use on campus, or graduating college student to use at the office.

// target reversible tote //

A big tote is a must for me at anytime of year! I love this one from Target because of the price and the fact that it’s reversible. This would be a fantastic over night bag, carry on, or even just everyday purse (if you have lots of stuff to tote around like me).

Is there anything on this list you would add?

Bayou Bengals | LGIP OOTD

Posted in Fashion
on 04/27/2016

Saturday’s endeavors included Alpha Phi family day (aka a tailgate and baseball game at Alex Box Stadium) and some beautiful weather. The Tigers played Mississippi State in a series, which we unfortunately lost. I am a baseball fan, but hadn’t had the chance to go to any games this season, so I was super stoked to be able to go to one! Here’s my ootd deets (if you’re interested) :-)

I was going for a casual OOTD – complete with jean shorts, a tee and sneakers. I added my long black necklace and double wrapped it to be choker at the top to add some glam to the outfit. These leopard print sneakers that I borrowed from my friend Catherine added the perfect pop! I ended up loving the end result of this casual gameday look. I definitely plan to incorporate sneakers into more of my looks because they were soo comfy!

Shop my look below! I couldn’t find the link to the tee I was wearing so I included another graphic tee I am absolutely obsessed with right now from Show me your MuMu.
